Marcie passed away in her sleep at home on Monday, August 7, 2017. She was born to Robert and Mary June Reed on February 24, 1956 in Landstuhl Germany. Marcie grew up in Southern California where she met her husband Dave. They married in June 1990. She moved to Lansing and had two children, Molly and Megan. Marcie worked for 18 years in various branches of the Michigan State Legislature where she had numerous close friends. Marcie passed away in her sleep at home on Monday, August 7, 2017. She was born to Robert and Mary June Reed on February 24, 1956 in Landstuhl Germany. Marcie grew up in Southern California where she met her husband Dave. They married in June 1990. She moved to Lansing and had two children, Molly and Megan. Marcie worked for 18 years in various branches of the Michigan State Legislature where she had numerous close friends. She was interested in politics and was involved with many state and local elections. She was very active in anything volleyball, from following MSU volleyball to assisting with St. Gerard and Lansing Catholic girls volleyball teams. She also developed a great love for MSU basketball and would follow the team to different tournaments. After Marcie retired, she rekindled her love of painting and took numerous painting classes. Marcie enjoyed going back to California every year to visit family. Marcie always had a great love for her family and will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. She is survived by her husband Dave; daughters, Molly and Megan; mother, Mary June Reed; sister, Marjorie Cunningham; brother, Robert (Lida) Reed Jr.; nephews, Justin (Raquel) Cunningham, Michael (Michelle) Cunningham, James Reed; and nieces, Kimberly (Ryan) Voss and Bernadette Reed. Marcie was preceded in death by her father Robert Reed. The family will receive visitors Tuesday Aug. 15 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 205 E. Washington, DeWitt MI 48820. The funeral service will take place 10:30 am Wednesday Aug. 16 at St. Gerard Catholic Church, 4437 W. Willow, Lansing MI 48917.
