Passed away on March 29, 2015 at the age of 74. Ray retired after 35 years from General Motors. He was a veteran of the US Army, a member of the American Legion Post #412 in Bath, as well as a volunteer fireman in Bath in the early '70's. Passed away on March 29, 2015 at the age of 74. Ray retired after 35 years from General Motors. He was a veteran of the US Army, a member of the American Legion Post #412 in Bath, as well as a volunteer fireman in Bath in the early '70's. Ray loved the outdoors and enjoyed riding his tractors around his property, bonfires in the evenings, and working in the yard with his wife, Janet. He was a softball coach at Bath High School for over 30 years and so enjoyed working with the other coaches and the girls. Ray also enjoyed socializing and storytelling with his friends at the American Legion.
He was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Anna (Miller) Wohlscheid; and three brothers, Bill, Bob and Tom Wohlscheid.
Surviving are his wife, Janet; daughter, Leslie (Lance) Loughman; grandchild, Terran Loughman; brother, Edward (Sharon) Wohlscheid; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Friday, April 3, 2015 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 205 E. Washington, DeWitt, MI with celebrant Rev. Dr. Harold DeMott officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday, April 2 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the funeral home and also one hour prior to the service on Friday. Interment will take place at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Bath, MI.
